||Hello, I am Jennifer Mohr, the founder of Precious Health Acupuncture. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and have lived in New York City since 2002. When I am not working, I like to dance, read a book, hike, hang out with friends, do martial arts, and watch the sunset.
From my teenage years through my 20ís, I experienced an extreme anxiety which gave way to a deep depression. I felt hopeless, irritable, and despondent. I didnít know how to change my life or who to turn to for help. Then I met my acupuncturist. She challenged my thoughts, asked me to believe in myself, helped me find hope, and eventually helped me to change my life around. I was able to dig myself out of the deep despair and find joy and laughter again. My goal is to help people ridden with anxiety and depression create a life that is fulfilling, joyful, and meaningful.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance from the University of California, Irvine. I am Phi Beta Kappa in Psychology. I taught Pilates and Gyrotonic for 15 years, with a focus on injuries and pain management. I earned a Masters of Oriental Medicine from Tri-State College of Acupuncture. I completed a seven month externship at the Rivington House, an HIV/AIDS nursing home in Lower Manhattan, as well as a mentorship with Emilie Connor based on Japanese style acupuncture.
